Through portraiture I can express my interest in people. In my oil
portraits, I employ the traditional method of underpainting and glazing
to attain subtle and rich transitions of hues. Liquid darks and impasto
lights provide a contrast that brings the portrait to life. My charcoal
and pastel drawings are rendered with an immediacy that captures
the essential character of my subject.
